The Baer (German for "Bear") is a fifth generation knightmare frame utilized by the Eurasian Union in Code Geass Megiddo.

Basically the KMF version of the Dom from Mobile Suit Gundam. Not much technological difference, other than the Baer not possessing a torso mounted beam gun. Primary color is standard Eurasian hellgrau.

Developed by Herschel & Son, the Baer was meant to be a direct competitor to Krauss-Clement's Ritter series. A bulky and ungainly appearing design, the Baer nonetheless possesses great speed and maneuverability. Even for a fifth generation knightmare frame, the Baer retains noteworthy high performance.

The secret to this combat capability, and consequently the Baer's defining feature, are the high-powered jet engines in its massive legs. As opposed to the landspinners utilized by most knightmares, these "ground effect" thrusters generate a cushion of heated air underneath their host machine, allowing it to hover across the ground with as much ease and mobility, if not more. The fact the Baer doesn't need to physically touch the ground to move means it can transverse terrains that would otherwise be impossible for landspinner equipped knightmare frames, as well as powerjump via jet propulsion rather than standard leg motors. Beyond that, the Baer uses mostly standard Eurasian weaponry, though it retains its own unique heat saber for melee combat.

One of the last fifth generation knightmare frames to be produced, the Baer would quickly become a favorite within the Eurasian Army, namely in units operating in the volatile Far East. Such units included the 358th Panzer Squadron "Unsullied" commanded by Major Andrei Zhukov, and the 470th Panzer Squadron "Whirlwind" commanded by Major Louise Hameln. Within these ranks, the Baer would prove instrumental in slowing the forces of Princess Marrybell mel Britannia to an agonizing grind, thereby granting the Eurasians ample time to prepare for their oncoming Operation Tiegel.

In the latter stages of the war, Herschel & Son would produce an updated, eighth generation version, the Kodiak. This unit would be distributed primarily to units that originally used the Baer, up to and including those that survived the Far Eastern Front.
