Goro Domoto (堂本, Domoto Goro?) is a major supporting character of Code Geass: Marik and Lelouch of Dissenstion.

Domoto a kindhearted Japanese middle-aged man who serves as a butler to Marik he serves under Erina di Britannia until her death. When Marik became the masked Revolutionary Zero, Domoto reluctantly helped him in his quest to overthrown Britannia as a member of the Black Knights albeit secretly.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Domoto had a clear sense of moral righteousness and integrity, something which led to the death of Marik's mother, Erina di Britannia. He cared deeply for others, particularly Marik and his siblings, and acted as a father figure to Marik, often giving him advice regarding his actions.

Domoto is a very peaceful and good-natured man who avoids unnecessary conflict. He is a pacifist and believes that using force and violence often leads to unnecessary conflict. At one point, he held Marik, Leon, and Liana especially dear to him, considering them his own children, and showed great care for Marik, acting as his father figure and guiding him on the right path.

Domoto's demeanor and wisdom make him a wise and understanding individual, fully aware of the world's complexities. He does not hold grudges towards others for their actions, except for Charles and Vector, who have caused immense suffering for the world.

Indeed, his deep understanding makes him a pragmatic individual. He believes that people should not act self-righteous and should not blindly believe that what they are doing is the right thing. Instead, he emphasizes that people should make decisions that are for the betterment and necessary for the world, regardless of how others may feel about it. He also criticizes people for acting without thinking things through or not considering the possible consequences of their actions, regardless of the reason.

He shares similarities with Ivan zi Britannia, as both act as father figures and have experienced certain incidents that led them to adopt a reflective mindset. Ultimately, this allowed Marik and Suzaku to repair their friendship and for Marik to regain the trust of the core members of the Black Knights, leading them to join the newly formed Knights of Union.
