The Koenigsloewe (German for "King Lion") is the Eurasian Union's prototype seventh-generation Knightmare Frame in Code Geass Megiddo. It is notably the personal unit of General Joachim Rommel, the "Desert Lion".

This design is based on that of the Gelgoog Jaeger from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket but KF-ied as with the rest. Being exclusive to Rommel, it is colored in brown, tan and black.

Developed in response to the Britannian Lancelot, the Koenigsloewe was meant to be the latter Knightmare's direct opposition. For that reason, the Koenigsloewe utilizes several similar technologies to the Lancelot, namely a sakuradite infused frame and high powered Yggdrasil drive. However, as it is a Eurasian developed unit, much of the Koenigsloewe differs significantly from its Britannian adversary.

From the onset, the Koenigsloewe is designed primarily for a combination of durability and offensive power, featuring dense armor to weather attacks as with most Eurasian Knightmares, enhanced speed, and mobility, and an assortment of next-generation weaponry. Within the latter, the Koenigsloewe is the first Knightmare Frame to successfully utilize blitz weaponry, specialty weapons that utilize ions. Researched heavily upon by legendary scientist Nikola Tesla, this weapon type's destructive power is akin to that of the Britannian hadron cannon and Black Knight radiant wave weapons.

For the Koenigsloewe's armament, it mounts twin blitz swords, a pair of forearm mounted blitz vulcans and a hand-held blitz rifle. Though they appear similar to the MVS weapons utilized by the Lancelot and other Britannian units, the blitz swords function by generating streams of ionic energy along their blades, superheating them so that they can cut deeper as well as allowing them to "short out" most electrical systems with each cut. As for the latter, the vulcans and rifle are essentially miniaturized ion cannons, each capable of launching ionic bursts over a long distance. That being said, whereas the vulcans fire short to mid-range rapid-fire bursts, the rifle can fire far more powerful bursts over long-range, which can also be rapid-fire or in concentrated beams.

Originally known simply as the Loewe, the Koenigsloewe was developed by Krauss-Clement in competition to be Eurasia's next-generation Knightmare Frame, in opposition to Herschel & Son's Leopard. After a myriad of trials, the two Knightmares would eventually be fielded against one another directly, with General Joachim Rommel personally piloting the Loewe against its contemporary, itself piloted by Stormtrooper Korps commander General Konrad Heydrich. After fierce fighting, both Rommel and the Loewe would prove triumphant (with the Loewe being "crowned" with its new designation thereafter) and the Eurasian Army would select the Loewe for mass production. This in itself would eventually culminate in the eighth-generation Loewe, meant to replace the fifth-generation Ritter series as Eurasia's mainline Knightmare.

From then on, Rommel would retain the original prototype as his personal Knightmare, from which he would command and fight many a battle against the forces of General Lelouch vi Britannia in the North African Front. During one such battle in Béchar, Algeria, Rommel would most famously (or infamously) engage the Lancelot and Knight of Seven Suzaku Kururugi. Through this pitched battle, Rommel would once again prove triumphant, nearly destroying the Lancelot in its entirety as well as almost slaying Britannia's White Knight. Only the strange intervention of Knight of Six Anya Alstreim and the Hector - in which Anya would recover the Lancelot's MVS and fight the Desert Lion at close-range - would save the Knight of Seven as well as allow the Lancelot to be recovered.

Though the Lancelot would subsequently be refurbished and upgraded (along with its twin Mordred) by Camelot head Lloyd Asplund, who personally charged Sir Suzaku with "avenging" his creation, there would be no further encounters between the Knight of Seven and the Desert Lion to the present. Even so, the Koenigsloewe remains with its commander in North Africa, with Rommel now using it to combat the forces of Lelouch's replacement commander, General Raymond ur Britannia.
