The Tamashi (Japanese for "Spirit") is an VTOL transport utilized by the Order of the Black Knights in Code Geass Megiddo.

Appearance[]

General design is that of the V-22 Osprey, but refined for the Code Geass setting. As it is a VTOL, it lacks helicopter rotors, but otherwise falls in line with the rest of its basis. It is normally colored in its host organization's black.

Design[]

As with other non-KMF Black Knight units, the Tamashi is a duplication of a Britannian originated design, in this case the Osprey VTOL transport. Following that basis, the Tamashi is quite capable in its intended role, being able to transport ground troops and/or equipment on and off the battleground, as well as retaining considerable lift space and capacity. Though armed with a nose mounted machine gun for some measure of anti-personnel capability, the Tamashi is generally meant to ferry, and so generally leaves the fire support role to traditional knightmares and gunships.

As per an unofficial standard for modern day VTOLs, the Tamashi can be utilized to transport knightmare frames as well, as its lift capacity allows it to take on nearly ten metric tons worth of an external load. Even so, this is more an impromptu measure if a more traditional method, such as the Hayabusa drone, is otherwise unavailable.

History[]

Due to the guerilla warfare focus of the Order of the Black Knights' modus operadi, the Tamashi, as well as the Order's non-knightmare ground forces in general, would not be utilized on the field until the conclusion of the Red Rebellion, in which a fair number of the VTOLs would be used to deploy troops into Luoyang and other major cities in former Area 22 to relieve surrendering Britannian troops and suppress dissenters. Following that debut however, the Tamashi would be used elsewhere for troop deployments, such as in Alexandra Land, where Black Knight soldiers were deployed to capture a "Britannian" (Eildon) base in the region while the knightmare garrison was drawn away.

In between such battles, the Tamashi has also been used to transport Order VIPs, up to and including Zero himself.
