The Windsor is the signature Knightmare Frame of the Britannian Empire's Einberg Knights from Code Geass Megiddo.
Appearance[]
Based on the Rud-ro.A from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, but altered and refined accordingly. The Windsor generally takes after its base design, though it lacks the original beam weaponry and mounts two slash harkens on its hips and a black cape off of its back. Colors are black and violet based on the "Spinel" variant of its basis.
Design[]
Developed as part of the "Missing" Sixth Generation, the Windsor was yet another attempt to develop a Knightmare Frame to replace the aging Sutherland and Gloucester. Well before the Seventh Generation Z-00 and Z-01 prototypes, the Windsor would be the first "official" knightmare model to infuse sakuradite into its chassis. However, unlike the former units, the Windsor only had sakuradite infused into its torso rather than throughout the entirety of its frame. Regardless, this supplement would prove effective, allowing the Windsor to utilize advanced weapons such as maser vibration blades, in this case a broadsword, and a hadron rifle. It could also utilize Blaze Luminous shielding through the same means. Its drive systems were also highly performative, resulting in the Windsor having over twice the speed and maneuverability of a Gloucester.
For all of its advancements, however, the Windsor would follow in line with its generation's "curse" and prove too costly to mass produce. Not only that, but only having limited amounts of sakuradite within its frame made the Windsor highly unstable to pilot, such that only high level devicers could utilize it on an effective level. As a result, the Windsor is another rare beast of a knightmare frame, such that it can only be utilized properly by the elite Einberg Knights.
History[]
Developed under the auspices of Project Black Knight, twelve prototype Windsors would be developed before the project's termination. As with other Sixth Generation units that came before, the Windsors would all be stored away for a period until eventual rediscovery. Seeking an exclusive Knightmare Frame type for his up and coming knight order, Sir Norland Lunebelg would take eleven of the twelve prototypes and distribute them to his fellow Einbergs, who would utilize them in their clandestine missions from then on. The twelfth unit would remain stored away some time after until being "adopted" by Knight of Ten Sir Luciano Bradley, who would have it even further enhanced and customized into his personal Seventh Generation unit, the Maleagant.
